Portfolio

Our portfolio contains design work ranging from space-deprived city courtyards to sprawling rural estates.  Inspiring drawings are carefully produced (by hand and/or CAD) to enable the reader to understand with confidence how the illustrative concept translates into the living, breathing garden.  Please see below for an example of our work and its varying scale.

City Courtyard

Clifton, Bristol

This courtyard was originally home to two dogs and had become a muddy mess of turned-up grass.  It needed to become a low maintenance, stylish space that accurately reflected the contemporary style of the house.

Contemporary Front Garden

Stoke Bishop, Bristol

Transformation of an ugly tarmac space to a sinuous, stylish front garden that gives an impression of quality and care before even pulling onto the drive.  Stunning stone setts and hoggin gravel is used to carve out an inviting and beautiful space.

Farmhouse Garden

Nr Evercreech, Somerset

This beautiful farmhouse was a blank canvas with huge potential.  Never having had a garden, the design reflects the geometry and stature of the house so that although new, it looks and feels timeless.

Merriman Park

Street, Somerset

A design that encompasses the needs and desires of an entire community.  Naturalistic perennial planting is used to create natural areas to roam and sensory gardens to explore.  This is a big renovation project and all about getting people outside, active and reconnecting with nature.

Stunning City Garden

Balham, London

The neglected rear garden of a stunning Balham apartment.  A small space that needed to work hard to offer nature, versatility, intimacy, style, and tranquility.  This is where good design was essential to create a space that has become a much valued extension to the home.

Sloping Family Garden

Frenchay, Bristol

This Bristol garden offered a challenge.  Being a sloping garden, it would have been easy for the garden to lack a feeling of rest, contentment and sense of place.  Key to overcoming this was the complex construction of a deck terrace that (along with contemporary glass doors), cleverly brought the outside in and led the design for the rest of the garden.

Whilst advanced drawing skills, creativity and the implementation of key principles are integral to good design, a garden can only be truly successful if it functions according to its owners’ needs.  Consequently, we pride ourselves on getting to know and better understand our clients and what they really want their garden to be.  Ensured is a designed garden that creatively realises either specific, thematic or sometimes even emotional requirements, ultimately delivering a valuable , valued and celebrated extension of our client’s home.
